The more time I spend working on Prince of California, the more I realize what it’s really about.

It started as a way to create the kind of stationery and stickers I wanted to see in the world—playful, nostalgic, a little bratty, a little heartfelt. But over time, something bigger has emerged. Every DM, every friend, every comment, every tagged photo or video—it all keeps pointing me back to the same thing: connection.

My absolute favorite part of this project has been the people I’ve met through it. Your support, your feedback, your creativity—it all means everything. I genuinely want you to love the things you get from me. I obsess over quality, and if you ever get a sticker sheet that isn’t cut right or has any kind of issue, I hope you feel like you can reach out. I’ve never had a complaint so far (knock on washi), but I always want to be the kind of brand that feels reachable.

Lately, I’ve been trying to create more ways to connect with you. Mckinna and I started a podcast called Paper Cut—it's fun, casual, and full of glue stick energy. I also launched an Instagram Channel on my Insta page and a YouTube channel with vlogs and cozy journal-with-me videos. I hope those spaces can feel like a hangout, a soft landing spot, or a place where we all feel seen.

But I’ll be honest—I've been in a weird place with social media. Journaling has become my safe space, and when I record it, it sometimes stops feeling that way. I rush through spreads, and then I don’t feel like I can come back to them later and build on them over time. It’s hard, because journal-with-me videos are how so many of you found me. They’re kinda where Prince of Cali started online. So now I’m trying to find the time and new ways to stay connected—without losing that quiet, slow, morning ritual that got me into journaling in the first place.

I love how busy fulfilling orders keep me! I can't help that I miss connecting on socials tho. If you’re here, if you’ve ever bought something or left a kind word or shared a little piece of your creativity with me—thank you. Love this community.

Parker

ok so this is wild to say but… the podcast launches tomorrow. like very soon you’ll be able to hear my voice and see my face while i journal and talk about all the random things floating around in my brain...😳

if you’ve been following me for a while, you know i usually keep things pretty anon. i’ve always been more of a behind-the-scenes person — post the spread, never the face lol. but lately i’ve been thinking about what it means to push myself. to keep stepping outside my comfort zone. and this feels like a big one for me.

i’ve wanted to try something new — something that lets me connect with people in this community in a different way. and this felt like a fun move.

the podcast is called paper cut and it’s me and mckinna (@blnde.e) sitting down every week to create and talk. sometimes it’s journaling, sometimes it’s other crafts — collage, painting, weird stuff with glue. every other week we switch it up. so two journal episodes and two other craft episodes every month. all very chill, very vibey, very us. that's the plan at the moment at least. but we will always do what we want. that is the best part of being an artist!

the first episode is about starting before you are ready. it is a rough episode. we arent ready to be podcasters. but we started anyway. it can only get better from here, right? let's hope! lol

the episodes are filmed, too. so you’ll be able to watch us journal and craft overhead-style (with cuts to us chatting face to face🫣). if you tune in, i hope it is on youtube so you can feel like you are in my living room crafting with us.

i’m nervous but also really excited. i love this community so much. and i’m always looking for ways to stay creative, stay curious, and stay connected. this feels like one of those ways. please send us questions you have that we can answer on the pod. or audio messages we could listen to and react to would be amazing!

so yeah. paper cut drops tomorrow. and i hope it makes you feel a little more inspired to create something — or at the very least, like you’re hanging out with a couple of friends who also hoard stickers and love creating new things.

I finally did it!! After months of saying “maybe I’ll start vlogging…” I actually hit record and uploaded my very first YouTube video — and it’s live now!

This vlog follows a dreamy little day in Venice, California, with stops at Erewhon, Burro, the Apple Doll popup (yes, they had a real vintage photobooth), and the Getty Museum to check out some incredible queer exhibits.

It ends with dinner at Great White, vintage shopping, and—of course—a little junk haul moment because I physically cannot leave LA without ephemera spilling out of my bag.

This was such a fun way to let you into the behind-the-scenes of my life and show what inspires the world of Prince of California. I wanted this vlog to feel like you were right there with us: laughing, journaling, finding weird little treasures, and falling in love with the chaos.

🌟 Special Shoutouts:

Huge love to my girlies for always making everything more fun and journal-worthy:

  • 🎨 Katie Dorame – Artist, icon, and best museum map navigator

  • 🎥 McKenna – TikTok queen and expert at spotting vintage gold

They’re part of the heart of this community and the kind of people who inspire so much of what I create.
